Event Calendar




August 19th — The author will be signing books at The Book Nook and Java Shop as part of the Local Author’s Jamboree taking place there.  The event is from 5:00 to 7:00 PM.  The Book Nook and Java Shop is located at 8744 Ferry Street, Montague, MI 49437.  The event is free and open to the public.


August 21st — The author will speak at The Battle Creek Rotary Club and introduce is newest book, Operation Light Switch.  The club meets 12:00 PM at The Kool Family Community Center, 200 W. Michigan Ave, Battle Creek Michigan, 49017.  The public is invited to attend.


August 22nd — The author will speak to the Coldwater Rotary Club about Winter’s Bloom, his first book and introduce his second book, Operation Light Switch, which has just been released.  The Coldwater Rotary Club meets at 12:00 PM at The Coldwater Elks Club, 47 Division Street, Coldwater, MI.  The public is invited to attend.


August 25th — The Birmingham Ladies Book Club comes UpNorth!!!  The author will talk with the ladies from Birmingham, Alabama at the home of Ms  Sally Helms, a summer resident of beautiful Onekama, Michigan.  Most of them have never been to Michigan and the author has made it a personal challenge to introduce to them to this beautiful area of the country.


September 3rd — The author, his wife and sister-in-law are hosting an Open House at Far-Far-View, where a lot of Winter’s Bloom takes place.  The event is meant to thank readers for the success of this book, which is his first to be published and to introduce them  to his newest novel, Operation Light Switch.  Unfortunately, due to limited space, this event is by invitation only.


September 7th — The author and his border collie, Sydney, have been invited to visit the Bear Lake Men's Book Club at 11:30.  Sydney is the inspiration behind the dog Flotsam in Winter's Bloom.


September 15th — The author will be speaking at the Blue Teardrop Suicide Awareness Program to be held at Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 2144, located at 175 W. 8the Street, Holland, MI.  There is a Social Hour that begins at 5:30 PM, followed by Dinner and the program at 6:00PM.  For reservations contact the author through his website, or email Marlene Gaitan at


October 23 — The author will talk with the Holy Redeemer Ladies Book Club in Jennison, MI.


John Wemlinger is available to speak, read and discuss his book: the ideas that led to it and the process of getting it published at meetings, book clubs, churches, etc.
